Get Baking with HEMA

If you’re getting kinda tired of baking in the sun (see what I did there?) and looking for a fun little household activity to do this weekend then look no further…

I love HEMA, it’s just such a random shop! It’s like a mini TKMaxx – you pop in for one thing and come out with about 7 or 8 random items you never even needed in the first place. A new store has opened on the route I take to visit my nans house so I find myself popping in there every week to see what’s new. Last week it was chocolates and farm animal toys… This week, cute kitchenware.

I’m really having a love/hate relationship with this weather at the moment. I’m loving the sun. Hating the humidity. And trying to keep my son out of the sun and inside the house is proving to be murder (I never noticed how little shade we get in our garden) which makes my latest purchases that much better…

Children's Baking Set, £7.50

Whenever I’m cooking my son loves to join in, he’s so inquisitive (or slightly annoying when all I’m trying to do is pour batter into a cake tin as mess-free as possible but he has other ideas) so having his own miniature baking set is perfect and means I don’t have to keep stopping to give him a turn with the rolling pin and can actually get everything in the oven. Each set comes complete with a mini baking tin, cake tin, rolling pin and two shaped cookie cutters. You can find the set here

Make & Bake Chocolate Chip Cookie Jars, £4.50 each

Because who doesn’t love a ready-to-go cookie kit. All you have to do is add an egg yolk and 200g of soft butter, shove them in the oven and you’re good to go. Perfect for the impatient toddler who cant wait to get the cookies in and out the oven and into their mouth. Each jar makes about 12 cookies and HEMA currently sell three different types of cookie mixes all of which can be found on their website here
