Hack for Quickly Healing Cuts and Scrapes!!

This trick comes courtesy of my Dad whose been using it for years. Apparently boxers use this nifty hack after fights which is how my Dad picked it up.

So.…. your little’un has had a fall (how they manage to fall off/over anything and everything never seizes to amaze me) and surprise surprise they’ve managed to cut themselves – nothing serious just a surface scrape. If you apply Vaseline to the wound it tends to heal quicker than usual. Top tip: plonk a plaster over the Vaselined lesion to stop your youngster from wiping it off.

According to Vaseline®:

Using petroleum jelly for scars may be beneficial during and after the healing process. Vaseline® Jelly is known for protecting minor cuts and burns. It creates a protective barrier on the skin’s surface to lock in moisture to help protect skin while it heals. By sealing in moisture it also helps to reduce dryness of scarred skin, once your skin has healed. This may help to improve the appearance of scars, making the skin look smoother and softer, as well as help to reduce itchiness caused by dryness.

So there you have it! My go-to hack for quickly healing cuts and scrapes when my daredevil son has taken a tumble.
