Kids Halloween Activities in London (2018)

With Halloween fast approaching (31st Oct) and costumes flying off of the shelves fast here are a few ideas if you’re looking for something other than trick or treating this year.

Horniman Halloween Fair

Enjoy fiendish fun at the Halloween Fair. Meet creepy crawlies, hear spooky storytelling, and browse for gifts and treats at our arts and crafts markets and food stalls. For more info head to their website here

Eerie Eltham at Eltham Palace

Show off your spooktacular costumes and frighten the fearless staff in the costume competition, test your nerves at the scary storytelling sessions and take part in gruesome arts and crafts. It’s a perfect day out for the family this Shocktober half term. There’s also pumpkin carving sessions (limited availability at an extra cost £4 - first come first served, no booking available). Fenton House pumpkin trail and spooky storytelling

Follow this trail around the walled gardens in the search for pumpkin pals for a goody bag prize, and get spooky with themed crafts and storytelling. The trail and art activities are self-led and suitable for all ages. A storyteller will join the festivities on the weekend of 3 & 4 November to share spooky tales at regular intervals throughout each day in the Old Butler's Pantry. No need to book ahead. Luna Cinema

If you have older kids and don’t mind having them out a bit later why not head to The Natural History Museum (Hintze Hall) for Luna Cinema’s Halloween showing of Ghostbusters. Each ticket includes complimentary popcorn and free entry to the Life in the Dark exhibition. You can find more information here

Boogie Monsters Family Acoustic Halloween Party @ Boxpark Croydon

On the day you can expect: Bubble Blasts, Disco Lights, Colourful Props & Inflatables, Crazy Confetti Cannons and a Fancy Dress Parade. Inflatable guitars and flashing foam wands will be available to purchase on the day for £3 each (cash only). The bar will only take card payments. Head over here for more info

Head to a local fun fair

Halloween generally tends to fall around the same time as half term when there are usually quite a few fun fairs on. If your lucky your local park might be host to one this year. George Irvins Fun Fair will be at Crystal Palace this Halloween from 13th – 14th Oct and 20th 31st Oct. You can find more information here

Head to a restaurant

Many eateries give their menus a spooky spin for Halloween – last year Yo! Sushi created a special meal where kids were able to create their own monster meal and then eat it.

Head to a Pumpkin Patch

For this you’ll have to head a little further out of London... Here are a few nearby...
