My 2019 Mantra!

My Mum once said to me that when you become a parent you often lose your self-identity because from thereon in you’re ‘so-and-so's Mummy’ and I don’t think I’ve ever resonated with anything more in my life. For the past 2 ½ years I’ve been stuck in Mummy mode, rarely taking 'me' time but this past week has been very different. I’ve been focusing more on ‘finding myself’ again by making more time for myself. So with that being said I’m going into 2019 with more of a mantra than resolutions: 

Don’t Skip Self Love!

Take time out of your week to focus on your wellbeing – from the physical to the mental. Taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of your son.. Need a walk to clear your head or a bubble bath to unwind – do it! 

Treat Yourself!

It’s okay to spend money on yourself and have fun without your son, you most definitely deserve it. Your son isn’t missing out on anything because you’re always taking him everywhere and he has everything he could ever want and need. Plus, a little space will do you both the world of good. 

Lean on others!

Don’t be afraid to ask for help! You cant do it all and that’s okay. You have family and friends willing to be there for you when you need them the most so turn to them instead of running yourself into the ground. They love you and want to see you prosper. You’re not a burden and you shouldn’t feel guilty!

Rise above the BS!

Not everything requires a response! Rise above the drama and don’t let it mess with your energy.

 Show Gratitude!

Don’t focus on what you lack, focus on your blessings. Take a moment every so often to acknowledge and appreciate things that bring you joy – as small as they may be.
