Zippos Circus

Our Verdict
Last night we went to the Zippos Circus first day previews at Peckham Rye Common. We were wowed by the array of performers including knife and flame throwers, contortionists (that never fail to make me feel queasy) and acrobats… And my personal favourite – the Globe of Death (where the bikers showcased their skills).
One of the first circuses I was lucky enough to visit as a child was Zippos Circus and I can honestly say I love it just as much now as I did then! My son was equally entertained and can’t stop talking about sitting on the motorbikes for a photo op.
Photo ops with the bikers set us back £6. The Polaroid photo that they gave us came out crap but I suppose they have to make money somehow and it’s a nice little novelty (you’re allowed to take your own photos too).

Prices are as follows:

Tips:
  • Wrap up warm! The evening shows can get a bit chilly so its worth packing hats, scarves and gloves (and possibly wellies).
  • The Ringside seats are worth the extra cash BUT you have to get there at least half an hour before the show starts or you’ll likely be sat in the second/third row with a not so great view. Not only are they upfront, they’re also a lot comfier than the plastic seats towards the back.
  • Book your extras (e.g popcorn/candyfloss/programmes) online before the show as they work out cheaper – a bucket of candyfloss was £4 online, £5 in person.
  • Bring plenty of snacks and drinks if you don’t plan on buying them there.
  • If you can, book in person (and in advanced) as you’ll save the £1.50 booking fee per ticket!
  • Use code ZIPA30 for 30% off!
