Our Verdict

The Venue
We went to the 11am show at Croydon, Fairfield Halls, and to be honest I was surviving on very little sleep and wasn’t up for anything that didn’t involve being curled up in bed in my nice warm duvet… When we entered the venue there was a long stall filled with signed souvenirs, a bar area for snacks and refreshments and a manned buggy park. As Fairfield Halls had only recently re-opened everything (from the facilities to the performance area) was immaculate. The venue was accessible throughout, with lifts and huge toilets with private baby changing areas.

The Show
Be prepared for a lot of dancing and even more singing! As soon as the show started my mood seemed to lift and I found myself singing along to many of the songs as my little one vacated his seat and danced and sung away. Justin and his team even encouraged the Mums and Dads to get involved too and even came into the audience for a sing song. While on stage Justin also noticed a few familiar faces and made sure to address them from the stage during his performances which I thought was a lovely touch. He even added an element of signing into the show too – teaching the audience the Makaton signing system to use during some songs. There was a (very thoughtful) short interval during the middle of the show where the kiddos were able to go for a toilet break and a quick snack and the crew were able to change costumes and bring in different props so it didn’t feel monotonous.

The icing on the cake was being given the opportunity to meet Justin and his team too! For someone so famous amongst the younger generation Justin is so down to earth. He came into the room with a handful of goodies, signed them and had a photo op, all while making chit chat with my son who had become so starstruck he hid under my coat and went shy.

Would we go again? Definitely. The songs in the show were all very familiar and it even managed to lift my mood and make me want to get up and dance too (I didn’t, I wasn’t trying to embarrass myself... or trip over the many kids who were already up dancing and crush them to death).
